Crown Gripper
A crown gripper is a plier-like instrument with serrated or crosshatched jaws used to firmly grasp and remove loose crowns or bridges. It’s ideal when the restoration is already mobile, and the grip allows controlled traction without slippage.
Temporary Crown Remover
This tool is designed specifically to remove provisional (temporary) crowns without damaging the underlying prep. It often features narrow, smooth tips or small hooks that fit under the margin to gently lift the crown. Some models have a spring assist or work like tweezers.
Towel Forcep 5.5"
Although not strictly for crowns, towel forceps can sometimes be repurposed to grip or stabilize items intraorally. The 5.5" size is compact, with pointed tips and a locking handle. Not recommended for final crown removal due to the sharp tips, but occasionally used in emergencies.
Crown Remover Plier with Rubber Tip
These are standard crown pliers modified with rubber-coated tips to grip crowns gently while protecting porcelain or zirconia surfaces. The rubber tip reduces cracking risk and helps maintain the restoration’s integrity, especially during temporary crown removal.
